The human head is like a radioactive rock, emanating imagery like psychic weather. Sometimes I consider my practice more similar to a scientific study, of how the mind conjures images into being, unearthed from the decaying matter that encases us. My fascination is to record the natural wonder of various growth patterns that images develop as they are transferred from us, through states of consciousness into a “body of work". I mess about with a lot of materials so that the art of this extraction is laborious and images may be borne up like sweat on the brow, or a thing found after digging. Images are spells, sparking from our heads like fire struck from stone, igniting darkness so that we may see.
