Signed and dated Grosz 1928 in pencil lower right,
numbered below and inscribed № 10 Vignette zu
Hoffnung. With the estate stamp and numbered 2-145-3
on the verso. On drawing paper.
This drawing by Grosz was propably created in
connection with his drawings for Schwejk in 1927, but it
also poignantly illustrates the poem Hope by Peter Pons.
Provenance:
Artist’s studio, Berlin-Wilmersdorf, 1928; Estate of the
artist, 1959.
