OLSEN Gallery would like to congratulate George Byrne as the winner of this year's Head On Photo Festival's Landscape NSW Award. Byrne's winning photograph Murwillumbah #1 was taken whilst the artist was in residency on the far north coast of New South Wales in 2016.

"As an artist in residence in December 2016 at a hotel on Cabarita Beach on New South Wales's far north coast. I was struck by the region's raw beauty and moved by the spirituality of Mount Warning as an ancient epicentre of indigenous life. George Byrne will exhibit his work at Halcyon House as part of a pop-up show from May 19th-21st this year. Following that, it will travel to Olsen Annexe Gallery in Woollahra for two weeks.
