The Warrnambool Art Gallery tomorrow evening is opening a survey show of works by Olsen Irwin?s Kathryn Ryan.
Ryan?s works explore perceptions of space and distance. They are hazy and have an atmospheric mist quality. Viewers to Ryan?s works can be forgiven for being totally transfixed by the hyper real and yet fantastical landscape that Ryan forms. Ryan, herself grew up on a farm in the western districts of Victoria and approaches her landscapes with a real sense of familiarity and understanding. Many of the works displayed in the show depict many local scenes of the Warrnambool area. If you're near the Warrnambool Art Gallery tomorrow evening the opening runs from 6pm - 7:30pm. Kathryn Ryan: A Quiet Place runs from 18th July to 22 November Kathryn also has an upcoming show at Olsen Irwin Works on Paper Gallery in August.
