Congratulations to Peter Gardiner on being included in 'Wildthing: Animals in Contemporary Australian Art' at Mosman Art Gallery.
'Wildthing is an exhibition examining the animal in contemporary Australian art and is part of the celebrations of the centenary of Taronga Zoo. The animal kingdom has long proved a source of constant fascination and inspiration for many Australian artists. Wildthing explores the complex and multi-layered relationships humankind has with the animal kingdom, ranging from the comfort and affection offered by the domestic realm through to encounters with animals in and of the 'wild' that fuel our fears and imagination. Through artworks that are humorous and thought provoking, the exhibition communicates important social and ethical issues regarding the use and commodification of animals in our society.'
