While not instantly recognisable, Ken Done has once again show his face at the Archibald Prize.
The Mosman artist has been painted by Melbourne artist Amanda Marburg and the portrait hung in the Archibald. Self Portraits by Done have been finalists in the Archibald twice, in 1984 and 2011.

"I am very pleased that Amanda Marburg's entry was chosen and it was fun to spend a day with her at my studio at Chinaman's Beach," said Done.
"Amanda has a rather unique way of working by first making a plasticine model of the picture and then painting directly from that model."
The plasticine effect is particularly evident in the striped t-shirt Done is wearing in the portrait. Marburg said she has admired Done since she was a child.
"I wanted the portrait to be colourful, playful, gentle, sensitive and sparkling with life as Ken is," Marburg said.
The Archibald Prize is on show at the Art Gallery of NSW until June 2.
Del Kathryn Barton won the prize with her portrait of actor Hugo Weaving. This was her second Archibald, after winning with a self-portrait in 2008.
